Traditionally Märzens are brewed in or very close to the month of March. It was once forbidden in old Bavaria to brew in those following months. This beer that was brewed in March was had in the late of summer regularly and what ever remained after that would be enjoyed during the Oktoberfest.
Awesome story there but of course in these modern times we get wrapped up in the hustle and bustle of day to day life. I really wanted to brew this beer in the traditional way in the month of March but that didn't happen. I did, however, do my research and found a way that I may be able to micronize the process and still ensure that I capture the same tastes and quality of the actual process. This is my "Micro Märzen".
